Initiatives Rooted in Business Activities :
Parenting support

There is also a need for social support of parenting. As the shift to nuclear families and growth in two-career households continues, the parenting obligations of guardians are increasing within households.
By disseminating information, managing childcare facilities and conducting other operations in the fields of pregnancy, childbirth and child-rearing, the Benesse Group will continue to support children's growth together with their guardians.

Providing Reliable Information on Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Parenting

Since 1993, Benesse Corporation has been helping to address issues related to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting by publishing magazines such as Tamago Club and Hiyoko Club, and the Tamahiyo New Basics Series of books. The Tamahiyo New Basics Series also includes content for mothers facing unique issues. For instance, we published a book on pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting for mothers of twins or triplets.

In recent years, we have developed platforms like Benesse Women's Park and Tamahiyo net, providing expecting mothers with faster access via a smartphone, PC, or mobile phone to more personalized information according to their due dates.

For most mothers, both joy and worry are part of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. We will continue offering support to mothers by providing reliable information.

Child Research Net (CRN)

Benesse Corporation supports the operation of Child Research Net (CRN). CRN is an Internet-based child research institute that seeks to build a network of researchers and practitioners who are interested in various issues surrounding children. Available in three different languages (Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)), the CRN website brings together and disseminates an extensive range of research findings from around the world by experts in a host of disciplines from medicine to education and developmental psychology, along with reports on the topics of children, as well as parenting, childcare and education.

Operation of Community-Oriented Childcare Centers

Benesse Style Care operates 56 childcare centers throughout Japan (as of September, 2018), and since commencing childcare operations in 1994, has been entrusted by many municipalities to operate their childcare centers. Children in Japan used to grow up with the benefit of relationships in their neighborhoods with people of all ages. Because infancy is such an important time in the development of a child's basic vitality, we work to create childcare centers that fulfill that role once played by the community.

Our goal is to become an integral part of the community, providing childcare centers where children can feel safe spending time, and where their parents can feel happy having them cared for.
