Consolidated net sales from the AVIVA Business declined 15.7% year on year in fiscal 2008, to ¥8.1 billion.

The lower sales mainly reflected a continued reduction in the number of PC schools at AVIVA Co., Ltd.

The AVIVA Business posted operating income of ¥0.2 billion, reversing an operating loss of ¥0.6 billion in fiscal 2007. This was mainly due to a reduction in labor costs and fixed costs such as school management and maintenance expenses resulting from the integration and reduction of schools, as well as to a lower amortization expense on goodwill in AVIVA Co., Ltd.
