Joined Daio Paper Corporation in 1977, and subsequently joined Benesse in 1991. He was appointed Corporate Executive Vice President and Director, Personnel & General Affairs Division in 2003. In 2005 he became Representative Director of Benesse Business-mate, Inc., and also oversaw the Executive Office, as well as being responsible for the Legal and Compliance Department and the Naoshima Cultural Activities Department. He was appointed Corporate Auditor in june 2008 and Corporate Auditor of Benesse Corporation in October 2009.
