Following various appointments including Head of Equity Sales, Nomura International, London, he was appointed Director of Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. in 2000. He joined Benesse in 2004 and served as Director and Corporate Senior Executive Vice President of Benesse, Representative Director and President of subsidiary Benesse Style Care Co., Ltd. and Chairman and CEO of Berlitz International, Inc. before being appointed to Representative Director, Vice Chairman and Deputy CEO in April 2007.
He has been in his current post since October 2009.
